How to judge a pair of speakers?

As the terminal equipment of audio frequency, the speaker, just like the voice of a person, decides the quality of a set of audio to a great extent. It is no exaggeration to say that choosing a good pair of speakers is the key to the success of a set of audio, so we must not be careless. Throughout the market, there are many kinds of audio, such as portable speakers, plug-in speakers, small speakers, computer speakers, Bluetooth speakers, mobile K-song audio, etc. The quality is uneven, the price varies greatly, so we should have "golden eyes" in the selection of audio. Just like the traditional Chinese medicine "look, smell, ask, cut", we can use "look, weigh, knock, recognize" to have a preliminary understanding of the speaker before the audition, that is, one look at the process, two weights, three knocks on the box, four recognition nameplates. We may start from the following aspects:

1. Viewing Technology
It is from the appearance to judge the quality of speakers. The quality of speakers made of natural logs is often assured.

2. Weighting
There is a saying in the acoustics circle that "the expert looks at the quality and the layman weighs the weight". The heavy speaker is definitely better than the light one. Good speakers are mostly made of 18mm, 25mm high-quality MDF particle boards, * flagship speakers are made of red sandalwood, yellow pomelo and other overweight solid wood or multi-plywood, so the weight is amazing, the net weight of a pair of speakers is up to 56kg. Low-quality speakers mostly use soft particleboard or even inferior paperboard, so the weight is generally lighter. In addition, some bad businessmen will also take advantage of the habit of consumers to pour sand and stone cement into the box to gain weight, and the weight must be carefully weighed.

3. Knock on the box


Hand tapping on the barrier boards around and around the box body, if the sound is heavy and slightly brittle on all sides, then the board material used in the speaker is hard and thick, and there are many reinforcement bars inside. The structure of the box body is reasonable and strong, and it has good sound insulation and anti-wave measures. This kind of box body has high processing cost, great difficulty, and few fake and inferior products. If the sound of "pop, pop" is emitted by tapping the box, it shows that the quality of the plate is too thin, the structure is unreasonable, and there is no sound absorbing material or reinforcement rib to maintain, which results in a large number of diffuse reflection and standing wave in the box. This kind of speaker can never achieve good playback effect.

4. Brand recognition

The tag * speaker attaches great importance to brand image and enterprise popularity, so the tag is very standard, exquisite indicators, enterprise name and origin are all available. A really good speaker has a well-made gold-plated or chrome-plated nameplate tag, on which there are usually distinctive trademarks, companies, names, origins, corresponding indicators, etc. The import boxes are in English. If only designs or vaguely labels a country's name, and even in addition to simple and extremely imprecise basic indicators, neither the origin nor the trademark of the manufacturer can be seen. Most of these three products are suspected of being counterfeit or inferior.
